This is my Prince Harry/Justin Timberlake/Ryan Seacrest last week on board. I'm going to miss him dearly but I know he's going to be loving his vacation with his boyfriend!

Then finally my SAMMMMMMMM is going to be here! Woo!! Can't wait.

Hope everyone back home is still loving life and enjoying their summer vacations - or just their summer. Enjoy cottage life. As much as I love the ocean and the beach, wouldn't mind just boating around right now going for a 'toodle' like at Aly's cottage :)

Miss you all! Don't forget to write!

PS: a nice surprise this past cruise: 2 guests that sailed with me on the Pride in December were on the Valor this week so that was exciting :) can't wait to see their pictures from the week - I always like to see the cruise from a guests perspective!

  1. I've recently been offered an entertainment staff position with CCL and your blog has helped a lot! I was wondering if I would be able to ask you a few questions - how was the medical exam? Do you enjoy the job? Any advice that you feel would be helpful? Roughly how long was the wait once you had your medical to finding out your departure date? Thank you and keep up the great work :)

    1. hey there! congratulations! its an incredible experience to say the least and hopefully you've gathered that from what you've read on here. I take it this is your first time on ships as well as far as working? The medical exam isn't bad at all especially for our position - there are a lot of other things that you have to do if you're working with food which we don't so we dont have to go through some of the yucky stuff. its mostly a blood test, drug test, and they just ask you about your medical history like if you have any sort of heart issues or anything like that. i was told at my interview that they were looking for hiring people at the end of august so i kind of had an idea. i did my medical in may, was told it was approved in June and that day they gave me the first opening of when i was able to join the college, so about 2 months prior to departure i was told. You get a bit anxious thinking 'oh have they forgot about me?' don't fret because they haven't. Chris is great and helps you with everything - he even gave me a call the day before I left to give me a low down on how my travel was going to work. Advice - just have fun. its honestly such an incredible opportunity that you don't want to pass it up. feel free to email me ( jj_samler@hotmail.com) if you have any other questions :) again, congrats! (sorry that was a novel :P)
